The most recent June 2020 survey by Online Grocery Market in Canada demonstrates ”…favoured online shopping over in-store shopping for all categories including apparel, household items, and grocery.”  And specifically for grocery, ”groceries increased from a mere five percent in 2016 to 17 percent in 2020. Between February and April 2020, food and beverage stores experienced a 107 percent increase in e-commerce sales…the underlying trends that took shape during the pandemic are here to stay” 

But even before our current situation, an accelerated digital transformation of all online shopping platforms, we designed several Click and Collect (C&C) processes to address last-mile / high populated delivery solutions.  

This case study demonstrates how we designed, tested and implemented a C&C workflow that includes picking->staging->delivery/pick-up for multiple scenarios:  

• Pickup in Store, hub stores

• Delivery Truck PickUp for concentrated locations (e.g., Condos, apartments)

• Manned Container and Locker PickUp locations
